Student Placement: Multi Sports Systems Operator 2025/26

📝Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term 12 Months

Why Hawk-Eye & Why Growth Sports❓

The Growth Sports department delivers our Tracking and Replay products across a wide range of sporting applications both in the UK and globally. Major projects currently involve Athletics, Badminton, Volleyball and European Basketball, with significant potential to expand out to new areas and deliver innovative solutions to a wider range of sports.

What Does A Growth Sports Systems Operator Do?💼

• Installation and setup of Hawk-Eye technology in the build-up to matches, and performing pre-match checks (this can involve physically demanding work, such as rigging cameras and running cables);

• Liaise with key stakeholders from broadcasters companies, match officials and teams to ensure all contractual obligations are seamlessly delivered;

• Monitoring and operating Hawk-Eye technologies during matches;

• Providing quick resolutions for any technical issues;

• Work in a variety of environments; within Hawk-Eye teams, across onsite, office-based or remote opportunities;

• Taking ownership of our system on-site and representing our company in the best possible manner;

• Research and development into new projects and technologies;

• Maintenance of kit and equipment needed to run the system.

What Difficulties Might I Face?🔦

Up to this point, I’m sure there have been many things that you find intriguing about the role, however, there can be difficult times:

Working Hours: Due to the nature of the sports industry, there is often work on weekends and midweek evenings and we are expected to fulfil our roles until the last ball has been hit. 

Travelling Abroad: You can expect to spend periods of the year working throughout Europe and internationally based on the events in the sporting calendar.

Working & Living in Different Time Zones: This role is tour-based which means you will be spending time away from family and friends where social events could be missed. Working in different time zones can also impact communication. 

High-Pressure Situations: Working in a live broadcast environment on a production that is distributed to millions worldwide will bring high levels of pressure. 

We will do our best to train and equip you to the best possible level to help with these but they must be considered before submitting your application.

• Assessment Event: Successful candidates from the video interview/online assessment stage will be invited to one of our Hawk-Eye Assessment Events. This could be virtual or in-person and you will be provided with further details and preparation material prior to the event. 

• Offers & Feedback: The team will take time to review all feedback and conduct our final reviews. All candidates will receive detailed feedback from the assessment event whether they have been successful or not as we appreciate each candidate's desire for development.
