What is the role?
In this role, you will be working within the performance analysis team in the academy, assisting the Head of Performance Analysis to deliver video and data analysis on evenings and weekends covering matches at Staplewood Training Ground and on occasion, talent centres, St. Mary’s Stadium or away fixtures.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the analysis delivery of a Professional Development Phase (PDP) squad as well as managing the academy analysis department. This involves developing staff as well as working closely with the Wider Academy Leadership Team to assist decisions across the academy.
Additionally, you will collaborate with coaches before, during and after training to deliver analysis to the team and support individual development plans for players in a PDP squad. Moreover, you will continue player led journey analysis and watch opposition to help PDP coaches and players ahead of competitive fixtures.
You will be required to ensure cameras are set up to film matches using fixed cameras, tripod, Pixellot Air Cameras or vantage points. You will then process, and upload matches to Hudl platforms and create a highlight video after each match for a PDP squad and send to relevant staff within 24 hours. You will also create educational content using footage from senior football to support the academy game model and individual development plans.
You will also need to assist the Head of Performance Analysis with budgets and contracts for the performance analysis department and ensure all performance Analysis kit is fit for purpose.
Is this you?
The ideal candidate for this role should have good interpersonal skills that allow them to build and maintain relationships with players and staff across the club. They should be able to manage their workload proactively whilst taking an innovative approach to the analysis provision across age groups in the academy. They should also possess the ability to be adaptable to changing situations both on and off the pitch.
Essential Skills and Experience
A good level of knowledge related to analysis software and hardware
A high level of understanding relating to feedback and learning environments at different ages and stages
Experience in interpreting data
Experience using Apple and Microsoft products
A Bachelor’s Sport Degree or a Master’s degree on Performance Analysis or Sport Science
Desirable Skills and Experience
UEFA B Licence
