Head of Medical - AFC Fylde
Up to £45,000 per annum
Join our team as the Head of Medical, where you'll lead the club's Medical Department. You'll oversee the development, organization, and implementation of all medical-related matters, optimizing player availability and enhancing medical support using the latest scientific practices. Your role will also involve supporting the Academy and Women's team.
Injury Prevention: Conduct annual injury audits and implement prevention strategies. Plan and deliver annual screening and physical testing for players.
Injury Management: Diagnose and manage rehabilitation plans for injured players. Provide daily updates and organize specialist appointments. Deliver high-standard rehabilitation sessions and maintain accurate records.
Daily Management: Provide daily maintenance treatments, implement recovery strategies, and oversee soft tissue provision. Ensure strict adherence to medical protocols and maintain the medical treatment room.
Matchday Duties: Provide pitch-side first aid for all games, organize medical kits, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. Conduct emergency action plan meetings and debrief sessions after incidents.
Miscellaneous Tasks: Manage player availability, order medical consumables, develop relationships with partners, and assist in the development of medical staff. Keep the medical room in an operational state of readiness.
Qualifications: Qualified Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist.
Experience: Previous experience working as a Physio in Men's Football. Head Physio/Head of Medical experience is desirable.
Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong understanding of injury prevention and management.
