Job Description

Hours of work: To work all home matches for the 24/25 season primarily at the Stadium and very occasionally at the Training Ground with a guaranteed 8-hour shift.

Salary: Competitive based on experience

Job Summary and Objectives:

To help the head grounds person at the stadium with both match day preparation and post-match operations. This includes but is not limited to setting up and dismantling goals, divoting, transportation of grow lights to and from the pitch and removing debris from playing surface post-match using handheld mowers.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting the Stadium Pitch Manager and his team with match day duties to provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing playing surface that is match ready for all fixtures.

Role Requirements:

This is a hands-on role based at our Loftus Road Stadium, assisting the grounds team on a matchday in maintaining a state-of-the-art football pitch. Some of the tasks you may be asked to complete include: 

· Mowing.

· Marking out.

· Divoting

· Watering

· Moving practice goals

· Moving/deploying the pitch lighting system.

During a matchday you will be helping to ensure the pitch is presented in an excellent condition for the matches and ensure that all tasks are carried out in line with operating procedures. You may also be asked to assist with the post-match clean-up operation with may include hand mowing.

Your background

Working on a casual basis you may be already in full time employment as a groundsman or a greenkeeper but wish to expand and enhance your C.V. and your grounds or greenkeeping maintenance experience to working in a professional stadium environment.

Ideally you will have or are working towards a qualification in sports turf management and or hold your PA1, PA6 and PA2A certificates in pesticide usage but not essential.

As a small and tight knit grounds maintenance team, QPR recognise the need for all staff to work in a multi-disciplinary manner to encourage personal development and build team spirit to enable the Club and other parts of the company to achieve its objectives.
