The Role

We are seeking a passionate and driven Football Development Goalkeeper Coach to join our dynamic team and deliver our Community Football Development pathway programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and developing goalkeepers across various initiatives, including our Girls Emerging Talent Centre and Boys Player Development Centre’s.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·       Deliver on goalkeeper coaching within the Girls Emerging Talent Centre and Boys Player Development Centres, delivering high-quality sessions.

·       Develop and implement structured training programs tailored to the needs of aspiring young goalkeepers.

·       Support the holistic development of players, focusing on both technical skills and personal growth.

·       Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive player pathway.

·       Provide ongoing feedback and analysis to players, helping them reach their full potential.

·       Participate in talent identification and player recruitment for both our Female and Male development pathways.

·       Communicate regularly with the Football Development Manager and Female Football Development Officer

·       Promote a positive environment for learning and development within the team.

·       Liaise with the rest of the Football Development coaches and support staff.

·       Maintain professional registration with relevant governing bodies and organisations.

·       Ensure that the health and safety issues are implemented in all areas of the programme.

·       Identify talented individuals involved in the projects and refer those individuals to appropriate destinations.

·       To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.

·       To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.

·       To work towards agreed objectives.

·       Comply with all Charity policies.

·       Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.

·       Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

·       National Goalkeeping Award or working towards

·       FA Level 1 in Coaching Goalkeepers

·       FA Level 2 in Coaching Football (UEFA C)

·       Need to hold an FA FAN Number

·       Current and up to date First Aid Qualification.

·       Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

·       Experience of designing and implementing GK development programmes.

·       Have worked with young male and female goalkeepers ages 8-16 years.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build trust and relationships.

·       Team player who will put team and player success over individual success.

·       A sound understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
