Position: Apprentice Commis Chef

Location: Academy Training Ground, BR3 1NZ

Type: Apprenticeship, Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship

Hours: Full-time

Salary: £18,000

 

We are offering a Commis Chef apprentice that will be based at our Academy Training Ground in Beckenham. This apprentice will give you the opportunity to learn from our experience Chefs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to start their career towards becoming a Chef.

 

What will the apprentice be doing:

  • Support the academy team in preparing both breakfast and lunch menus each day ready for service
  • Support the stadium team in getting ready for matchdays and the running of matchday service
  • Willingness to learn and become part of the team
  • Able to follow instruction from the senior chefs to complete tasks. But confident to also ask for support and help when needed
  • There is an element of pressure by the nature of the food service industry. This is a position of learning but there is still an element of pressure
  • A willingness to work towards minimal food wastage through both quality of preparing of foods but also quantity that is needed
  • Flexible to work weekends and evening hours. If ever there is a business need to stay a bit later after your shift that time will be given back in lieu
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures

 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about pursuing a career in the sector.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles (preferably Level 2 Food Safety certified).
  • Willingness to adapt and work in a fast-paced, dynamic culinary setting.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and matchdays.

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
  • Progression to become Commis chef
