Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator will work in direct partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer, providing a combination of strategic and administrative support. The marketing team is one of seven (7) commercial departments: Business Ventures, Consumer Products, Events, Marketing, Media & Broadcast, Partnership Development, and Partnership Marketing.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for an individual with an interest in meaningfully growing soccer in America and stepping onto the front lines of the commercial and marketing side of sports. The ideal candidate will serve several core business functions while having exposure and access to a variety of high-level projects, environments, etc. (far beyond their years of experience).
This role is a junior level marketing role so regular training opportunities will exist working on selected campaigns and events on the entire marketing mix.
This role will also bolster the fan engagement team on match day operations as we deliver an enhanced match day experience for Insiders, fans and partners. This could include Insiders and community impact activities as required.
Short-list of Responsibilities Include (not exhaustive):
- Participating in weekly Marketing Leads meeting providing top line updates, summary, defined next steps to the group.
- Support annual strategic planning & quarterly business review processes, internally and with the agency.
- Maintaining and coordinating the CMO domestic and international business travel arrangements, including accommodations, transportation, reservations.
- Managing calendars and booking and rescheduling multiple meetings, in multiple time zones, and understanding dependencies between meetings.
- Distributing marketing materials as required e.g. brand guidelines, match day graphics, heritage month plans.
- Proactively plan out each quarter including match day, key events and USSF business cycle to ensure all docs are prepared well in advance as per CMO / Marketing needs.
- Support the Director of Fan Engagement and team for match day operations as required.
- Proactively ensure tasks are being followed up and executed in a timely manner.
- Preparing the CMO expense report and managing department invoices.
- Supporting other Marketing Leads as designated by the Chief Marketing Officer.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree with an excellent record of academic and managerial or professional achievement (Graduate degree a plus).
- Passion for and experience with extra-curricular activities that demonstrate leadership, excellence, commitment, and other important intangible skills (i.e., collegiate athlete, military, volunteer, etc.).
- Strong, clear, articulate communication and writing skills; ability to conceptualize and communicate complex ideas easily.
- Extraordinary attention and commitment to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate, prioritize, balance, and easily switch between multiple tasks or needs.
- Professional presence and demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with people from all backgrounds and in all settings.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability for quick responsiveness.
- Demonstrated fluency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, CRM / Salesforce, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, and travel if and as needed.
- Good team player, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays.
- Able and willing to travel up to 10% of the time to any domestic U.S. Soccer-controlled matches.
