About this role:

Crystal Palace FC are looking for a Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at the Training Ground in Beckenham. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in upholding the highest level of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Following the guidance of the executive chef and head chef while having input in to new ways of presentation of dishes
  • Working quickly and accurately during busy periods, including weekends and some evenings
  • Helping in the preparation of all food menus
  • Resourcefully solving any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Complying with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
  • Completing all relevant food hygiene, HACCP and delivery documentation
  • Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • A catering and hospitality qualification
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
  • Experience working as a chef
  • Experience within an organisation where large numbers for catering are required including various food services
  • A self-starter and able to take the initiative to complete tasks
  • Able to cope under pressure in a calm and efficient manner to set and meet deadlines
  • Willing to work flexible hours as regular weekend, bank holiday and evening work is required
