Job Description

Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a Head of Scouting to support its First Team Scouting and Recruitment operations at our Training Ground Facility at Clayton Wood in Trent Vale. The Head of Scouting will be responsible for implementing and overseeing a rigorous and robust scouting process to identify the best possible talent available to the Club, whilst also supporting the Chief Executive Officer and First Team Manager in the implementation of the Club’s strategy and football philosophy.

 

The ideal candidate will be accountable for making and advising on judgements regarding current and future First Team composition.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Managing the First Team scouting and player recruitment processes.
  • Building a strong scouting structure to ensure comprehensive player recruitment.
  • Leading and managing the Club’s network of talent scouts within the UK and Europe.
  • Providing detailed scouting reports on potential transfer targets.
  • Presenting details of recommended players to the CEO and First Team Manager.
  • Establishing productive relationships with clubs and agents.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of relevant EFL, FA and FIFA Regulations regarding player recruitment.

 

Key Skills and Experience

 

  • Proven track record in recruitment of players.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Highest levels of integrity.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • In-depth knowledge of English football at all levels.

 

The position will be offered on a full time permanent basis. A competitive salary and benefits package is available commensurate with this senior role.
