Job Description

Future of Football LTD (FOF) is at the forefront of player development in the South-West. We have recently entered teams into the Junior Premier League (JPL), marking a pivotal moment in our growth. Over the past decade, we’ve coached thousands of children, and currently, we provide sessions to over 400 children per month. We also founded and run the FOF School League and host popular Football Holiday Camps. Our brand has gained a strong reputation for developing young talent, and we continue to grow from strength to strength.

We are also closely linked to FOFFC, a grassroots club FOF co-founded with over 30 teams and 300 players. Players coached by FOF are fed into FOFFC where teams are run by an awesome group of over 40 managers. Our teams play within the Mid wilts and North Wilts teams.

As we enter the JPL, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to grow into an expanding role, taking FOF forward as one of the leading teams in the area, on and off the field.

We are seeking 2 dedicated, enthusiastic coaches - one to lead our Foundation Phase (U6-U10) and someone to run our Youth Development Phase (U11+). You’ll be responsible for delivering sessions aligned with the FOF curriculum, and you will work closely with Curtis Goodwin, our Director of Coaching, to plan sessions, discuss player progress and identify pathways.

Our evening sessions are based in Melksham, Wiltshire, between 5pm and 7pm, and we require availability for at least 3 days a week (with up to 5 days of coaching available).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead sessions in line with FOF’s new curriculum.

  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Coaching on player development and pathways.

  • Participate in our exciting growth within the JPL

  • Be available for all internal CPD and keep relevant FA qualifications up to date.
    Support the needs of the lead Coach and assist in training sessions and games when instructed.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable and fluent in coaching the technical and tactical Academy Principles of play in the small-sided games format including 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9 & 11v11 (Phase dependent).

  • Ability to liaise empathetically and effectively with young players, parents & coaches.

  • A clear understanding of the standards of behaviour and codes of conduct required within the Academy.

  • A professional “can do” attitude with strong organisational and administrative skills.

  • A desire to seek solutions.

  • A genuine team player.

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and is personally committed to achieving agreed objectives.

  • Is receptive to feedback about own behaviour, strengths and areas for improvement.

Application Process:
Candidates invited for an interview will have the chance to lead two paid, one-hour sessions as part of the assessment process to ensure a great fit with our team.

Essential Requirements:

  • FA Level 2 in Coaching Football

  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children certification

  • Hold an up to date FA Safeguarding children qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working towards UEFA B Qualification.

  • FA Youth Award

  • Sports-specific degree at the university level

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £25-£30 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Part-time hours, up to 10 per week (additional holiday hours available) could lead to more hours.
