Job Description

Wigan Athletic Community Trust has an exciting new opportunity to join our football development team as a casual football development coach.

The successful candidate will deliver across various football development programmes with opportunities to lead on our development centre sessions and holiday camps provision.

The role will require the successful candidate to be confident in planning and delivering football development session, as well as the ability to develop strong with key stakeholders across a variety of football development programmes.

Salary: Hourly £15.00

Type of contract: Casual

You will:

  • Deliver high quality football coaching across a range of football development sessions.
  • Deliver content in line with the Wigan Athletic Community Trust football development pathway.
  • Taking responsibility and accountability for the quality of provision whilst on session.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with participants and partners to retain attendance at sessions to maintain high levels of engagement within the program.
  • Collect the required monitoring and consent information in line with the Community Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered safely assessing and mitigating risk presented at session.

You will be:

  • Able to plan and delivery football-based sessions in a variety of settings to a range of people of all abilities and ages.
  • Able to differentiate sessions to meet the needs of all participants.
  • Able to use excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Show an awareness of safeguarding issues when working with children and young people
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise own work
  • Able to work well on your own and as part of a team
