Purpose
Established in 1986, City in the Community is the registered charity of Manchester City and exists to empower healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
The purpose of the Community Outreach Lead Coach is to lead the delivery of Community Outreach programmes; including PL Kicks, City Girls and One City Disability. The Community Outreach Lead Coach will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation for the Kicks project and expected to develop and maintain relationships with delivery and facility partners.
Accountabilities
- Lead delivery on Kicks, Girls and Disability projects, ensuring that coaching sessions, monitoring and evaluation and safeguarding are of the highest standards.
- Support participants through youth voice, football activities, implementing and regularly reviewing session delivery for each Kicks venue, ensuring they continue to provide a safe and engaging environment for participants.
- Support Project Officer in reporting on set KPIs and outcomes associated with the project to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the Premier League Charitable Fund and any additional funders.
- Utilising own profile and community network to create, maintain and develop relationships with internal stakeholders in CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester.
- Regularly review individual and part-time team performance to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery on the programmes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience of coaching community-based programmes, specifically around ASB and youth engagement
- Solid experience of working in and liaising with schools, community organisations, and facility partners.
- Minimum Level 2 Coaching Certificate in Football or youth work.
- Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club
- Experience of working as part of a team to achieve joint outcomes.
- GCSEs in English, Maths and Science
- Competent across Microsoft office
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects
- Knowledge of competitive sport development pathways
- Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
- Resilient and adaptable to change
- Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities
Desirable
- Degree level education
- Coaching Level 2 qualification in one other relevant sport
- Knowledge and experience of Youth Work theories and practise.
- Specific knowledge of youth engagement and/or disability/Girls programmes
- Remote line management
- Experience of managing a team
- Presentation skills
- Experience of delivering CPD sessions for wider team.
