JOB PURPOSE 

 

  • Oversee the provision of Rehabilitation Services across Foundation, Youth Development and Professional Development Phases (PDP). Leading on the Rehabilitation Philosophy in the Academy.
  • Deliver U21 Rehabilitation on a daily basis to enable return to fitness in the most optimum time frame.
  • To lead the PDP Multi disciplinary  Rehabilitation team .

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To work with the Lead Academy Physiotherapist and Academy Head of Medical in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured players. In the main, you will focus on the U21’s but will be required to work across all phases as Lead.
  • Expected to organize weekly rehabilitation meetings and formulate individual rehabilitation plans.
  • Liaise and communicate with all relevant stakeholders, this may include but not exhaustive to Coaching staff, Parents, Psychologists, National team staff, Education staff, Player Wellbeing and External specialists.
  • Liaise closely with the Academy Reconditioning coach, other Sports Science staff to develop a holistic approach.
  • Needs to build on existing work practices to further develop the service.
  • Uphold Club, Medical Department, health & safety, ethics and safeguarding protocols, acting as a role model to players and staff alike and reflecting the Club’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Employ awareness of welfare issues, handling all matters with the utmost professionalism, diplomacy and sensitivity.
  • Attend refresher and development training when necessary.
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and the Health & Safety at Work Act relating to the various sites.

 

MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

Specific Experience: 

  • HCPC
  • CSP
  • ATMMiF
  • FA Safe Guarding Certificate
  • BSc or MSc degree level qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Current and Valid driving licence
  • 7 years + post graduate experience
  • Experience working full time in a high performance team environment
  •  3 years experience within football and either 1st team or PDP level.

 

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to work as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team, values and respects others.
  • Be able to present to Parents, Coaches and other clinicians.
  • Constantly seeks to improve the service delivery of the Academy Medical Department.
  • A commitment to relevant Continuous Professional Development.
  • Able to analysis available data and profile injuries.
  • Able to design and implement strengthening and pitch based rehabilitation  programmes.
  • Be flexible to cross cover other roles in the Academy Medical Department where required.
  • Understanding of developmental Paediatric Musculo Skeletal Issues.
