About The Role

Leicester City Football Club are seeking passionate and enthusiastic professional teachers to support the Club’s Academy Education department, providing expert teaching as part of the academic day release provision as per the Club’s hybrid and full time training models.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the creation and delivery of an education provision, targeting core subject matter to U12-U16 Academy players, and be passionate about supporting the department to enable each and every Academy player at the Club to exceed their educational potential.

The fundamental objectives and duties of the role include;

  • Support the education department in working towards the creation of a Leading-Edge academic provision at the football club
  • To deliver and shape the Day Release education provision at the football club
  • Support the Education department to work towards each academy player at the football club achieving above their educational flight path
  • To deliver core GCSE specific specialist teaching to U12-U16 players as part of the club’s day release academic provision
  • Provide academic performance review comments within player day release handbook
  • To facilitate a positive learning environment within academy day release lessons and assist players with education platform learning
  • Attend necessary training to continually develop within the role
  • Work with colleagues to identify opportunities to support and/or develop the diversity and inclusion within the team and wider club

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must have attained certain qualifications and be able to demonstrate specific experience;

Essential:

  • QTS/QTLS Teaching Qualification
  • Subject Relevant Degree
  • Relevant experience within Secondary School Sector
  • Extensive Teaching and Learning Experience

Desirable:

  • Leadership experience in an educational setting
  • Relevant experience in a sports performance environment or of working with elite athletes
  • Experience of teaching GCSE English, Math’s, or Science

Formed in 1884, the Club was promoted to the Premier League in 2014 when the Foxes returned to the top tier as the Championship title-winners. In 2016, Leicester City became Premier League champions. This remarkable achievement qualified us for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the Club’s history, and we subsequently reached the quarterfinals. The Club continued to build on that success and celebrated lifting the prestigious FA Cup in May 2021. –variable, as and when assignments are offered

The likeliest times that assignments will be offered include the below, however work assignments are subject to variance/change;

-Tuesdays: afternoons

-Thursdays: mornings & afternoons

-Fridays: mornings
