Location: Based primarily at Loftus Road, however travel will be expected throughout the week to various Trust projects.

Job Title: Safeguarding Manager
QPR Community Trust are looking to recruit a highly knowledgeable ‘best-in-class’ Safeguarding Manager to join our award-winning Community Trust.
The primary purpose of the role will be to oversee and direct the provision of all safeguarding activities and associated training across the Community Trust. This will involve ensuring there is a Trust-wide awareness of current legislative obligations in respect of safeguarding and to advise all staff, including the Trust designated safeguarding officers, in their roles and responsibilities.
We want our Safeguarding Manager to be visible and approachable to all staff. As part of this role, we expect the successful candidate be present at a variety of QPR Trust projects across the week, building relationships with staff and key stakeholders.
This role will form part of the QPR Trust Senior Leadership Team, and regular reporting into the Board of Trustees will be expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the Trust and all its staff are fully compliant with all safeguarding legislation and to embed safeguarding into the culture of the Trust.
- To work in collaboration with the Club Senior Safeguarding Managers to continually review and update the Trust Safeguarding policies.
- To ensure all relevant staff/ volunteers have the appropriate levels of DBS checks, safeguarding inductions and regular workshops and updates.
- To respond to queries from QPR Trust staff, and specifically from Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSO’s) on good practice approaches to situations as they arise
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with LADO’s and understand various reporting methods
- To Provide safeguarding training and support Trust wide CPD events.
- To lead on the Risk Assessment process for QPR Trust and update the Business Risk register for safeguarding annually
- To be responsible and support senior management with the completion of the safeguarding section of the Capability Code of practice with the aim to make the score Exemplary.
- To ensure the compliance of all QPR Trust staff in relation to their DBS / Safeguarding / Emergency Aid qualifications.
- To focus on the high-risk areas of the Trusts delivery, e.g. Premier League Kicks to ensure that front line staff are equipped to put safeguarding at the forefront of their delivery and responsibilities. There will need to be engagement with both staff and participants on these projects.
- To maintain a high profile as the recognised point of contact for Trust safeguarding issues and to take the lead on behalf of the Trust in respect of any disclosures or investigation in relation to children or adults at risk.
- To work closely with the Club Senior Safeguarding Manager and Trustees with responsibility for safeguarding. This will involve providing reports for the Board and forming the wider QPR Trust Safeguarding Strategy
- To attend home matches (as and when required) to support the Trust in ensuring children and adults at risk are kept safe
- To ensure best practice is followed by all photographers involved in mascot/child specific photography.
The type of experience we are looking for:
Qualifications
- Minimum Safeguarding Level 3 Qualification or equivalent
- Driving Licence and access to access to vehicle
- In-date DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding qualification
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
- Previous experience in a similar Safeguarding Manager / Safeguarding Lead role
- Experience of working closely with senior stakeholders in an organisation
- Management experience would be preferred as this role will involve managing a small team of DSO’s
- Experience of writing and managing Risk Assessments
- Experience of managing an online disclosure/case management portal
- Background in report writing and presenting
- Knowledgeable in statutory regulations impacting on child welfare
- Previous experience of working with children and/or adults at risk.
