TITLE: Futures Lead & U12 Academy Assistant Coach

DEPARTMENT:  Soccer Operations
REPORTS TO:  Academy Director

FLSA: Full-Time; Exempt

 

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

 

The Futures Lead & U12 Academy Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the academy team in both player and team development and the day-to-day operations of an Academy Team. The assistant coach will assist with the team, including supporting training practices and games. The successful candidate will report to the Academy Director and Player Development Lead.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Lead Academy Scout to identify top talent for the Academy & Futures Program.
  • Scout players for the academy teams in Orlando City SC Homegrown Territories.
  • Scout and recommend players to attend Academy tryouts or Talent ID sessions.
  • Manage and assist with the operations and leading the Orlando City Futures Program – A supplemental and talent ID program for U10-U14 Players.
  • Assist with scouting reports and scouting database.
  • Support and assist the U12 Head Coach and age group.
  • Attend U12 training, league games, tournaments, and scheduled events.
  • Implement the club methodology, effective practice, and game plans through the Academy Curriculum, style of play, and periodization.
  • Use session planning tools and video platforms to ensure that all relevant player data is recorded.
  • Enforces team rules and league rules applicable to players and coaching staff.
  • Assist and support coaches in the general control, management, and conduct of Academy players, ensuring adherence to the Academy Code of Conduct.
  • Assist with other age groups with training and game day when needed.
  • Other duties assigned by the Academy Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • USSF ‘B’ or ‘C’ License or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in elite soccer.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Collaborative management style – an advocate of team concepts. 
  • Positive influencer, comfortable with leading dynamic change.
  • Must be able to work long hours, weekends, and some holidays.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • USSF A License
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) or multi-lingual fluency
  • Experience, familiarity, and network within OCSC Territory is strongly preferred.
