Brief Description

The Publications Senior Specialist will support the Head of Content with consolidating plans for all internal and external publication-related communications to ensure consistent messages are conveyed to all internal and external stakeholders, in alignment with related policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• It is important to note that the below criteria apply across the three Businesses (the SC, the Host Country and the Tournament):
• Lead and oversee publication production cycle, i.e. writing/ reviewing briefs, receiving requests and coordinating with the Brand Management team, in order to ensure the final bulk production and distribution
•  Lead and oversee resources as assigned
• Create and refine publication-related project plans, strategies, scope of works, timeline schedules, tender documents and briefs
• Follow up with the responsible team members to ensure the projects are delivered as per the project/ task deadlines
• Develop and continually manage project goals, timelines and budgets
• Be the focal point between the section, the Brand Management team and other Marketing division sections, internal clients, external agencies and suppliers to ensure the publication projects are delivered on time and to high standards, as per the related projects scope, plans and strategies
• Support the Head of Content with consolidating plans for all internal and external publication-related communications to ensure consistent messages are conveyed to all internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with the Brand Management team in order to ensure the smooth process of the publication production cycle
• Report on projects as and when required
• Ensure that the production is cost effective
• Assist on decision of what resources are required for every project
• Liaise among different departments, e.g. agencies, managers and suppliers, where needed
• Coordinate with all Host Country project focal points in order to produce their related publications as per the requests and agreed project plans and timelines
• Assist in coordinating marketing efforts related to publications with all internal and external stakeholders
• Support the section’s activities to create engaging and informative publication materials
• Support the section’s activities coordinating with external agencies contracted by the SC for publication-related work
• Liaising with the Brand Management team for brand compliance of the developed publications
• Cooperate with colleagues to develop, communicate and pitch publications, including strategy, goals, budget and calendar
• Liaise and align with all internal and external stakeholders to decide the best practice for publication productions, e.g. produce innovative e-publications to replace traditional printed publications
• Provide guidance and support to all project teams and departments to maximise the impact of all publications
• Lead publication-related projects in a structured format and be responsible for their success
• Provide support in the tendering process and the project management of content marketing programmes and initiatives
• Perform any other duties directly related or relevant to the job assigned by supervisors
• Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered:
• to a high standard and on time
• in full compliance with the SC Quality Policy and the Safety and Security rules and requirements
• in line with any standards and objectives designated in the Employee Performance Management system

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, media, public relations, advertising, mass communications or other relevant discipline
• Master’s degree in fine arts, marketing, business administration, media or equivalent is an advantage
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a client service executive, marketing/ advertising project manager or any other related positions
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task on simultaneous projects
• Outstanding project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, preferably in both Arabic and English
• Strong project management, planning and client servicing skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to maintain standards while meeting tight deadlines
• Strong knowledge and experience of publications production cycle
• Experience creating project plans, strategies, scope of works, timelines, tender documents and briefs
• Experience working cross-functionally and comfortable interacting with other employees at all levels
• Comfortable working in a highly diverse, multilingual environment
• Excellent presentation, mentoring and relationship-building skills
• Analytical, creative and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and an ability to work autonomously
• A team player who is willing to pitch in where needed
• A positive attitude, patience and persistence, especially when dealing with various internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and project management tools
• Knowledge in design and design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Knowledge in copywriting and content development is an advantage
• Willingness to learn new software as needed
• Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
