Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provisions.
In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level we have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join and lead the physiotherapy services for the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department.
2. The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, forward-thinking and proactive individual to join the team.
In this role, you will co-ordinate the physiotherapy provision within the Academy and be responsible for the development and delivery of all aspects of physiotherapy services to the U21 squad. You will play a pivotal role in contributing towards the Academy Medical and Sport Science Department’s vision of optimising player health, availability and performance utilising a multidisciplinary evidence-based physiotherapy provision.
Working at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, you will implement effective assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injured players and adopt a proactive approach to injury prevention, delivering individualised and group athletic development sessions.
3. The Person
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications:
· BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (minimum 2:1)
· MSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
· Membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
You must have demonstratable experience in providing a high-quality physiotherapy provision to elite athletes in a full-time capacity within a professional sporting environment (Professional Development Phase).
You will have a thorough understanding of applied anatomy and be proficient in assessing and rehabilitating complex sports injuries, including knowledge of growth and maturation, injury prevention, athletic development whilst utilising excellent clinical reasoning and reflective skills.
You must be able to work in a pressurised team environment with previous demonstratable experience of working within Interdisciplinary and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy), demonstratable experience of mentoring junior practitioners, in addition to awareness of the requirements of a Professional Development Phase environment would be desirable.
