Job Description

The postponed EURO2020 will take place in the summer of 2021, and Copenhagen will host four exiting football matches, three of them with the participation of the Danish national team. 

If you wish to be part of this fantastic event, the EURO2020 team in Copenhagen is currently looking for project-employed Ceremonies Coordinator in the period May 17th to July 3rd. 

The Tournament

Contested every four years, the UEFA European Championship has been showcasing the continent’s top talent since its inception in 1960. UEFA EURO 2020 will celebrate 60 years of the tournament and will be played as a ‘Euro for Europe’ in summer 2021 across 12 host countries and cities for the first time.

Project mission

Ceremonies (CERE) will provide a compelling experience and amazing images to all target groups in the UEFA EURO 2020 stadiums and for millions of television viewers worldwide.

The Ceremonies Coordinator will be the link between UEFA and the LOS and will be delivering the Pre-matches ceremonies on MD in collaboration with other projects and according to protocol. The ceremonies will be consistant in the format and elements across all 12 host cities.

Key Responsibilities

Communication and cooperation

  • Manage CERE team during the tournament
  • Manage all CERE related production, including off site rehearsal and onsite rehearsal at the venue within required budget
  • Liaise and share requirements with UEFA in Nyon and with the team onsite
  • Carry out reports for weekly tasks and general running of the ceremonies department and raise any concerns or issues
  • Support UEFA to manage suppliers and freelancers

CERE Workforce responsibilities

  • Manage workforce volunteers together with CERE Assistant
  • Train the CERE team onsite, including stagehands and stage managers
  • Participate in the Volunteer Program training

CERE Operations

  • Production of MD documents such as running orders and activity plans as appropriate
  • Plan and manage offsite and onsite rehearsals efficiently to ensure all staff and Ceremony Makers are fully informed and prepared to deliver the pre-match ceremony on match day
  • Ensure all contractors and suppliers have completed their UEFA EURO 2020 accreditation application correctly
  • Maintain, store and manage the banners
  • Coordinate and supervise delivery of banners to other host cities

Profile of Successful Candidate

  • Professional background and experience in a similar role within ceremonies
  • Sport presentation or stage management experience
  • Ability to multitask while working on different degrees of deadlines and scopes
  • Ability to problem solve on the spot and be adaptable
  • Self-starter able to execute workload with minimal direction
  • Full professional proficiency in English (both oral and written) and in the local language of the venue
  • Excellent with all Microsoft programmes including Power Point and Teams
  • Passion for events, ceremonies and football is a plus

You will be part of a highly dynamic event team with a fantastic team spirit. You will be trained by UEFA by specialists within the area. All project personnel will be asked to bring their own PC, and will have a phone made available for them during the assignment.
