Main goal

As the primary point of contact and coordinator for the Volunteer (VOLT) project at a cluster of venues, the WEURO Venue Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional, meaningful, and memorable experience for approximately 500 stadium volunteers. This includes matching volunteers with various projects, ensuring they possess the right skills, availability and motivation, and assigning them efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will oversee one of four venue clusters: Basel-Lucerne, Bern-Thun, Geneva-Sion or Zurich-St. Gallen.

From January to May 2025, they will primarily work remotely but must be available to visit the venues as needed. In June and July 2025, they will work from the Volunteer Centre in the city corresponding to their assigned cluster.

Key responsibilities

  • Promotion & Recruitment: Promote the Volunteer Programme, recruit 500 volunteers, and build a team with long-term volunteers to support recruitment for two venues.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Manage volunteer schedules and ensure projects have the right number of volunteers.
  • Training & Events: Provide training, organise kick-off and thank-you events.
  • Volunteer Management: Oversee the Volunteer Centre, ensure volunteer needs are met, and monitor activities.
  • Reporting & Liaison: Report to UEFA, liaise with host cities, and manage a Venue Volunteer Assistant.

Skills & Requirements

Education & experience

  • Master degree in In sports management or equivalent
  • from 1 to 3 years working with volunteers
  • from 1 to 3 years working on local or international events, in sport or another domain
  • from 1 to 3 years experience of working with a volunteer management tool (e.g. Rosterfy) would be a massive plus

Languages

  • English / Proficient
  • German / Proficient and/ or French / Proficient

Other mandatory requirements

  • Organised, efficient and able to work independently, from a home office
  • Able to multitask effectively
  • Good knowledge of the venues and the local associative/sporting environment
