Intern Scout / Analyst

Job Description

Internship/Volunteer Summary: 
Hartford Athletic intern/volunteer will have the opportunity to learn about Club’s culture and vision, understanding the importance of a systemic approach to the strategic planning and daily actions, which includes every area of the club, marketing, ticketing, media, operations, public relations and technical department.
Position Summary: 
The Hartford Athletic Performance Analysis and Scouting intern/volunteer will learn and assist onsite the coaching staff to optimize the operational efficiency through data analysis, video analysis and preparation of materials regarding game, training, opposition and scouting reports. The Director of Performance Analysis and Scouting will oversee and guide intern’s actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Learn and assist with the recording of training/games.
  • Learn and assist with the production of situational clips and statistical data presentation for coaching staff.
  • Assist in preparation of materials for game, training, opposition and scouting reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments for video analysis within the Soccer Operations team.
  • Assists with the maintenance of inventory, video equipment, tapes, and peripheral equipment and supplies. Performs routine maintenance as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Club.

Desired Qualifications:
  • In depth understanding for the sport of soccer is preferred.
  • Computer proficient in Office Package (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and iWork (Pages, KeyNote, Numbers), video analysis/editing softwares, data base and presentation.
  • Maintain highest level of professionalism and confidentiality within a pro-team environment is required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work 20-25 hours per week, including nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings, including holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Internship/Volunteer position is unpaid. 
  • Applicant must have valid driver license/reliable method of transportation.
  • Start/End Date can be discussed upon time of interview.
