GK Coach - Roles and Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities 

 

STA Goalkeeper training

* Work with Goalkeeping Director on:

- Scheduling of all STA GK training sessions

- Creating an overall curriculum to maximize player development

- Effectively plan, and deliver goalkeeper coaching sessions in line with the club’s philosophy and coaching. 

- Communicating with team coaches about GK’s performances / areas to improve

+ Coaching goalkeepers within team sessions

 

Game-day management of GKs 

- League / Cup games

- Tournaments / Showcases

 

Communication 

- Point of contact for all internal GK-related questions / concerns

- Point of contact for all external GK related inquiries (tryouts, program information, etc…)

- Communicating with team coaches about GK’s performances / areas to improve and any other issues that need to be addressed

 

Recruitment

- Facilitating of GK-specific tryouts + input on goalkeeper selections

- Recruitment of non-club GKs to fill needed spots

 

College recruitment guidance

- Help goalkeepers with college selection process

- Serve as reference for GKs + communicate with college coaches about player

- Help with college recruitment videos - editing, feedback, etc...

 

Evaluations

- Work with STA coaches to deliver detailed regular individual goalkeeper progress reviews, and produce and implement individual goalkeeper development plans for STA goalkeepers. 

 

Supplemental GK training program 

- Small & Larger Group training - Open to GKs outside of STA (as well as STA GKs)

- Camps

- Seasonal events
