About The Role
 
Role Purpose
To lead on the financial planning for the club and hotel and ensure that the club optimises its financial resources to achieve strategic goals.  The role will be a key contributor to Board and Senior Leadership Team reporting, evaluation of projects, data modelling, management of the long-range plan and driving accurate financial forecasting.
 
The role will suit an individual with a commercial mindset, keen to drive best practice and influence decision making at a senior level of the club.
 
Main Areas of Responsibility
  • Owning the long-range plan, ensuring understanding of key assumptions and keeping the SLT informed of strategic movements in line with wider business performance.
  • Leading on the annual budget process, re-forecasts and rolling latest views.
  • Performing analysis to ensure business assumptions are credible, questioning inputs where required and evaluating risks and opportunities.
  • Preparation of high quality, timely board information with supporting analysis.
  • Clear and concise communication and presentation of the budget and forecast to the Board and the wider stakeholder group for approval.
  • Drive continuous improvements to the current budget and forecast process through automation and process efficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the business to determine and develop appropriate operational KPI's to ensure business-wide engagement.
  • Provide insight in respect of financial performance to support executive decision making and articulation of performance, in particular to year-on-year trend analysis and sensitivities to assumptions, for use by Group the Club Leadership Teams.
  • Ownership, management, and continual development of reporting solutions and data reporting tools.
  • Ensure all policies are adhered to.

  • Be an ambassador of the Group, providing excellent customer service at all times whilst portraying a professional image.
  • Perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Group as identified by the CFO.

About The Candidate
Essential Requirements
 
Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent); and/or MBA,
 Experience
  • Experience in an FP&A or reporting role.
  • Experience in with budgeting and re-forecasting exercises.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualities
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to use advanced Excel modelling techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong senior stakeholder relationships.
Desirable Requirements
 
Experience
  • Experience in a football finance role.
  • Experience of M&A/Due Diligence.
