WOMEN’S PERFORMANCE NUTRITIONIST

Term:                                         Permanent

Salary:                                       Competitive

Hours of Work:                      Hours are set to meet the needs of the business but are a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, possibly evenings and weekends

JOB DESCRIPTION

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the nutritional delivery, education, monitoring and continual evaluation of players within the Women’s pathway, adopting an age specific approach.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with identified players on a 1-to-1 basis to support their nutritional needs.
  • Attend match days as directed to assist/implement the nutritional provision and provide post-game recovery support where appropriate.
  • Develop and implement innovative and evidence-based nutrition education sessions and resources to increase nutrition knowledge throughout the pathway levels for players, parents and colleagues.
  • Be the point of contact for all administration regarding player overnight stay in relation to nutrition being responsible for player menus that enhance performance
  • Be the point of contact for all MDT staff in relation to any diet and nutrition concerns regarding players within the pathway
  • Attend all continued professional development events.
  • Actively engage in a fully functioning competency framework and integrated appraisal process.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of players at all times, liaising with the Club Safeguarding Team and Welfare team as and when needed
  • Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Postgraduate Qualification in Sports Nutrition.
  • Registration on the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr)
  • ISAK Level 1
  • UK-Anti Doping Clean Sport Advisor
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene

Desirable Requirements

  • Valid Driving Licence
  • ISAK Level 1
  • Postgraduate degree
  • FA Safeguarding

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Experience working within a team sport setting
  • Experience in understanding the needs of female athletes to optimise health and performance.

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to contribute to internal & external networks
  • Ability to apply & share knowledge when appropriate

Personal Requirements

Terms of Appointment 

  • 37.5 hours per week, possibly evenings and weekends
  • 20 days annual leave (rising by 1 day per completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus 8 statutory bank holidays).
  • 6-month probation period.
