Job Description

West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a part of WVU system of campuses, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach.

About the Opportunity

The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in managing all aspects associated with a collegiate men's soccer program. Work in this position will primarily focus on the development of student-athletes

What you'll do:

 

  • Assist the Head Coach with responsibilities as required for an NAIA or NCAA Division II Program.
  • On field coaching responsibilities as assigned by the head coach.
  • Assist with preparation for competitions.
  • Assist in evaluating talent in current and prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting a strength conditioning program.
  • Assist in coordinating team meetings, athletic study halls for athletes, strength and conditioning work outs, etc.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic progress, eligibility, retention rates and graduation rates of players.
  • Assist in disciplining and monitoring conduct of student-athletes.
  • Remain current and adhere to all Institutional, NCAA and/or NAIA rules.
  • Assist in compiling annual inventories and preparing for equipment purchases according to state purchasing policies.
  • Assist with fundraising responsibilities and working with outside groups to receive funds for athletics
  • Assist in maintaining a competitive team.
  • Maintain Junior Varsity program
  • Assist with recruiting quality student athletes that meets the criteria established by the Athletic Administration.
  • Assist with organizing pre-game activities, ball boys/girls and officials.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Appointment Length: 10 Months

 

Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One (1) year collegiate playing experience and/or successful coaching experience.
 
Requirements 
  • Valid Driver's License
