Job Description

Main Purpose of the role:

The Community and Income Development Manager will sit as part of the BRCT Senior Management Team with a direct responsibility to support the Trust’s vision, mission and strategic objectives through efficient and effective income generation as well as the provision of bid/tender-writing support and expertise to support our strategic partnership network.

 

Support the Executive Management Team with:

 Business and funding development including bid writing and awards applications.

 Policy and procedure development.

 The growth and delivery against an effective income generation strategy.

 Support and develop a network of strategic and operational partners.

 Support the funding, creation and start-up of new community initiatives and projects.

 Support individual staff to develop new methods of fundraising and business development.

 Support the repeat funding of existing community projects in order to make them sustainable.

 Support the funding of infrastructure and capital grants to improve BRCT’s resources/facilities.

Support the Executive Management Team with:

 Policy and procedure development.

 Applications relating to awards/accreditations to add credit to the Trusts positive portfolio of support to its communities.

 Supporting effective report writing and evaluation measures linked to key partner stakeholders.

 The development and delivery against an effective income generation strategy.

 Support and develop a network of strategic and operational partners for BRCT.

 Working in partnership with the Trust’s Head of Community Programmes to support the funding, creation and start-up of new community initiatives and projects.

 Support individual staff to develop new methods of fundraising and business development.

 Support the repeat funding of existing community projects to make them sustainable.

 Support the funding of infrastructure and capital grants to improve BRCT’s resources/facilities.

 

Duties and responsibilities

Business Development / Income Generation:

 Work in partnership with the Executive Team to develop an effective income generation strategy for the organisation.

 Coordinate and develop grant/commission/ funding applications in line with the above plan.

 Conduct detailed and regular research on local and national funding opportunities and maintain a library of information related to funding applications to ensure a smooth and efficient process when submitting funding proposals.

 Identify and submit well written grant applications and tenders to a wide range of funding partners.

 Increase the portfolio of funders and work across the entire organisation to support all areas of work.

 Support, member organisations in their bid-writing/funding applications.

 Monitor multiple on-going applications, record and update funding data records.

 Research, conceptualise and develop proposals to support both existing and potential projects.

 Ensure accurate records are created and maintained detailing the conditions set out as per successful grants / funding bids. Ensure such conditions are strictly adhered to, liaising with relevant staff members where appropriate.

 Engage in networking, research and analysis to collect information for potential funding opportunities to contribute to the organisation’s ability to make strategic and informed decisions regarding new ventures.

 Research activities relevant to the organisation through engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

 Attend market engagement events, information workshops and networking opportunities to inform future funding applications and direction.

 Undertake any other duties appropriate to this role.

 Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.

Other Responsibilities:

 Offer strategic support to the Executive Team as and when required.

 Develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with local schools and community groups alike.

 Work with the Senior Management Team to ensure that all strategic objectives are met.

 To always represent Blackburn Rovers FC and BRCT in the community in a professional manner, to include dress, presentation, hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.

 To provide some strategic influence on all BRCT programmes.

 Support and develop a network of strategic and operational partners for BRCT.

 Develop/support new strategy/policy and work closely to support the Chief Executive Officer and the rest of the Senior Management Team, aiding business development of the Trust

 To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with BRCT policies and procedures; including equal opportunities, child protection, health and safety at work, etc.

 Ensure that all activities and projects are delivered to the very highest standard.

 To be committed to CPD relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement. To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post.
