Job Description

Brief Description

The appointed candidate will be responsible for overseeing cluster wide planning and delivery of site logistics services – in support of HC Transport operations – within the Event Logistics Operations sub-project.

This role will be expected to liaise with internal senior management, external stakeholders (including, but not limited to third party logistics suppliers) and senior business professionals in order to support the HC Transport Project using agreed upon service levels as indicated in the Concept of Operations plan maintained by the Logistics Project.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for reviewing, validating, and coordinating material requirements for the HC Transport Project across the assigned cluster
• Responsible for leading site logistics teams in delivery of logistics services for – and in operational logistics support of – HC Transport operations
• Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and coordination of site operating plans across the assigned cluster
• Liaise with Logistics Service Provider and vendors to lead site logistics services
• Perform site visits, FF&E audits, and stock takes - sometimes independently – as necessary
• Responsible for managing site-based timelines, milestones, and deliverables for the assigned cluster
• Coordinate with other Logistics sub-projects to ensure HC Transport is fully supported from a Logistics point of view
• Provide ongoing reports on Transport Logistics progress and needs to the Transport Logistics Manager

General
• Provide input to departmental/divisional planning and administration matters
• Adapt to the needs of the role as per the organization’s evolution
• Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered:
- to a high standard of quality and timeliness
- in full compliance with the SC Quality Policy and the Safety and Security rules and requirements
- in line with any standards and objectives designated in the Employee Performance Management system.

Job Requirements

 

Education and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or related field and relevant experience

Experience and skills

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in large scale, international event logistics
• Experience in Qatar and Middle East region will be an added benefit
• Proven ability to interact with multiple departments
• Excellent analytical and people management skills
• Flexibility and a related ability to work autonomously
• Positive attitude, patience, and persistence
• Proven experience in managing client’s groups and delivery stakeholder’s relationship, aligning demand, and deliverables
• Understanding of operational planning and delivery experience in large scale international sport events
• Ability to understand the big picture and adapt accordingly
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Team player, willing to work on tight timelines and contribute when needed
