Position Summary:

The MLS NEXT Head Coach is responsible for leading one of LISC’s elite boys teams within the MLS NEXT platform. This role includes planning and executing high-level training sessions, managing player development in line with LISC’s game model, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring alignment with the club’s technical framework and long-term development philosophy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of a designated MLS NEXT team (U13–U19).

  • Plan and deliver high-level training sessions in alignment with LISC’s methodology and game model.

  • Provide ongoing technical and tactical instruction in line with age-specific development standards.

  • Conduct player evaluations, feedback sessions, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

  • Scout and assess players during internal and external tryouts.

  • Manage game-day coaching including lineups, tactics, substitutions, and post-match analysis.

  • Collaborate with the MLS NEXT Director and club Technical Staff to align player movement and curriculum.

  • Participate in all MLS NEXT league requirements, including travel, match uploads, and compliance.

  • Maintain open communication with parents, players, and staff in a professional and constructive manner.

  • Model leadership, professionalism, and LISC core values in all interactions.

  • USSF B License (minimum); A License or UEFA equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience coaching at the elite youth, academy, or college level.

  • Deep understanding of long-term player development and positional play.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games/tournaments.

Preferred:

  • Experience within the MLS NEXT platform or equivalent elite league.

  • Background in player scouting, IDP creation, and video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl, Veo).

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
