Job Description

Overview

The Lead Coach will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of training programs for all age groups, ensuring the highest standards of coaching are maintained. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for football, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in player development.

 

Key Responsibilities

Player Recruitment

  • Support the Head of Football in the delivery of the player recruitment strategy.
  • Conduct regular talent identification in line with recruitment strategy.

Coaching and Training

  • Plan, deliver, and review high-quality coaching sessions tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
  • Implement the academy's football philosophy and playing style in all coaching activities.
  • Provide individual and group coaching to enhance players' technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.

Player Development

  • Conduct continuous assessments of players' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop personalised development plans for players, including setting goals and monitoring progress.
  • Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages player improvement and enjoyment of the game.
  • Use of player analysis software to assist with player development.

Team Management

  • Lead and manage a team of coaches, ensuring consistency and quality across all training sessions.
  • Manage coach scheduling to ensure the appropriate deployment of coaching staff.
  • Ensure coaches complete high quality personalised development plans for players, in a consistent manner.
  • Organise and oversee match day preparations and team selections.
  • Support coaching team with the liaising with parents and guardians to communicate player progress and address any concerns.

Administration and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant coaching regulations and safety standards.
  • Assist in organising and running academy events, such as trials, tournaments, and camps.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date with the latest coaching methods, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the academy’s programs and operations.

Health & Safety

  • Ensuring that area of work complies with legislation relating to Health & Safety and observe and implement specific responsibilities in relation to these matters as detailed in the Policy for Health & Safety.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum UEFA A Licence or equivalent
  • Proven experience of 5 years or more, in coaching youth football at various age levels
  • Valid FA Safeguarding and First Aid Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of player development principles and coaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and work collaboratively with others
  • Commitment to player welfare and safeguarding practices.
  • Experience in managing a team of coaches
  • Experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
  • Passionate about football and youth development.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate players and staff

  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Adaptable and open to continuous learning and development
  • Standards driven
  • Flexible in approach, highly motivated, showing resilience and reliability.

This role may require working evenings, weekends, and non-term time to accommodate the needs of Fast Feet Football Academy. Travel may be required for fixtures, tournaments and talent scouting, it is essential that the successful candidate holds a current valid Driving Licence.
