Job Description

The Academy Driver will be responsible for safely transporting Academy players, trialists, and staff to and from various locations in accordance with the weekly transportation schedule.

This role is vital to the smooth operation of the Academy's programme and will require flexibility and a professional approach at all times.

Please note - this is a casual driving role and not a full time position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport Academy players, trialists, and staff to designated locations, including training grounds, matchday venues, and other events.
  • Ensure transport for Academy players across the UK, including travel from home addresses to the Knighthead Performance Centre, St Andrew’s Stadium, and other key venues.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and care during all transportation duties.
  • Report on vehicle upkeep, service, and maintenance in line with Academy policies.
  • Regularly clean and maintain the interior of transport vehicles.
  • Engage with safeguarding protocols and report any concerns to the Club Safeguarding Manager or Academy Safeguarding Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities policies.
  • Attend professional development events as requested.

  • Academy players, parents, and guardians

 

Essential Requirements:

  • A full, clean UK driving licence with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Confident in driving various vehicle types, including minibuses.
  • Ability to engage with safeguarding protocols and attend necessary training.
  • Own vehicle with up-to-date MOT and breakdown cover.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults at risk.
  • Experience driving within an elite environment, particularly in sports.
  • Qualified to drive a minibus.

Terms of Appointment:

  • Casual contract based on the needs of the business.
  • Applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check and reference checks.
