A brilliant opportunity for an Academy Driver has arisen within the Academy Department. The duties include the following:

Key Accountabilities 

  • Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times.
  • Ensuring safe transport for all Academy players/trialists and staff.
  • Attend all continued professional development events as and when requested.
  • Actively engage in a fully functioning competency framework and integrated appraisal process.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of Academy players at all times liaising with the Club Safeguarding Team.

Transport Responsibilities:

  • Transportation of Academy players/trialists and staff as per the weekly transportation sheets.
  • Transportation from players' home addresses across the UK to Knighthead Performance Centre, EPIC, Host Accommodation addresses and St Andrew’s Stadium @ Knighthead Park and vice versa.
  • Transportation for squads to matchday venues across the UK.
  • Transportation of players/trialists/staff from their home address to all airports across the UK.
  • Transportation of players/trialists/staff on trips and tours.
  • Transportation of players from their schools across the Midlands, to the training ground.
  • Maintain the Academy professional approach to player transport at all times.
  • Carefully log and report all matters relating to vehicle upkeep, service, and maintenance, in accordance with the Academy's policies.
  • Keeping the vehicles interior to a high standard, cleaning the interiors on a weekly basis with the resources provided by the Club.
  • To raise any Safeguarding concerns with the Club Safeguarding Manager, Academy Safeguarding Officer and Head of Academy Operations and Administration.
  • To maintain professional conduct at all times
  • Ensure all correct uniform is worn, when on duty.
  • To liaise with the Academy Safeguarding Officer and Head of Academy Operations and Administration with regards to any issues with regard to the Academy transport provision.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably expected, as requested by the Head of Academy Operations and Administration.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check, (previously a CRB check).
  • Candidates must hold or through the club obtain at the earliest opportunity the relevant safeguarding training (i.e., FA Safeguarding Children Workshop).
  • Employment offer will be subject to a medical clearance process.
  • Must have had a full driving licence for at least 2 years.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Up to Date MOT certificate on own car (each new MOT certificate to be produced to the Operations and Administration Department for their records.
  • Own breakdown cover.
  • Confident in driving other vehicle types.
  • Qualified to drive a minibus.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults at risk.
  • Previous driving experience within an elite environment.

  • Ability to deliver the professional requirements of an Academy Driver, within an elite sporting environment.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

  • Casual contract of which these are hours to suit the needs of the business.
