• Global Product Manager for the Football GBU; Footwear, Equipment and Accessories category – to develop, steer and drive category strategies aligned to the long-term category plan.
• Establish the foundation category strategic decks, briefing collateral and range architecture to realise the GBU long-term category plan and seasonal strategies.
• Coordinate the Design, Development, Athlete Services and Innovation workstreams to deliver world class football footwear propositions on a seasonal basis.

Strategy

  • Support the Category Management team in establishing long-term category plan aligned seasonal ‘category’ strategies to enable all related GBU functions (Brand, Sports and Product Marketing) to deliver against.
  • Develop the global product architecture and line planning for all Footwear, Equipment and Accessories categories to ensure both the long-term category plan and seasonal strategies are met.
  • Fully aligned coordination of seasonal strategies with marketing (Brand, Sports and cross-category Product) counterparts to ensure seasonal proposition and concept delivery is optimised.
  • Establish full ownership for the strategy, management and growth of Equipment and Accessories under the guidance of the Category Manager.
  • Support the Category Management team in establishing and implementing the category Innovation agenda to ensure future NB Football concepts accelerate growth in future seasons, that deliver against consumer necessity and are market leading.

 

Communication

  • High level collaboration with GBU counterparts in accomplishing category goals and strategies.
  • Develop key communication channels with Global Merchandising counterparts to enable adoption and traction in identified priority markets.
  • Foster strong relationships with each of our key specialty accounts, across our priority markets, to further drive adoption and traction.

 

Project Management

  • Seasonal footwear, equipment and accessory calendar ownership to ensure all key deadlines and touchpoints are delivered against (OTIF), by all product functions (Design, Development, Innovation). Determine relevant KPI’s against which to measure success.
  • Experience in managing data input into PLM systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Provide seasonal category decks and briefing collateral to ensure internal/external customers have clarity, direction and guidance for concept delivery – at all key stage gates across the creation calendar (VLR/GTM/KAP).
  • Principle coordinator of UK/US resource structure to ensure Athlete Services and Innovation personnel are aligned, engaged and enabled to deliver against the long-term category plan.
  • Support the Category Manager in ‘Athlete Services’ and ‘on-boarding’ of the elite athlete boot program to ensure best-in-class delivery and servicing (seasonal boot planner, C2C strategy).
  • Assume category control of servicing our licensed assets (equipment and accessories), driving adoption and traction across our identified critical markets.
    • Governance of licensed category strategy, governance and deployment.
    • Direct management of licensed asset portfolio to support sign-off and commercialisation.
    • Interaction with Regional Merchandise leads to maximise licensed category growth.
    • Oversee product briefing and commercialisation process.
  • Coordinate and manage, alongside brand marketing and development counter parts, the sample process for photography and all key calendar dates.
  • Extract, interpret and coordinate regional SMU demands.

 

Insight

  • Install a consumer centric approach to ensure relevant insight is captured across concept, design and technology to validate and inform category decision making.
  • Ensure a consumer centric approach to underpin both seasonal category strategies and innovation workstreams through engagement of key target (global) consumer groups.
  • Provide the category with relevant industry (market, competitor landscaping), consumer and customer insights that can translate into an effective seasonal informant for both Design and Development functions.
  • Support the Development Team with the testing and validation of all seasonal silo creation to ensure appropriate measures are taken to minimise risk, demonstrate actions and provide quality assurance.

 

Analytics

  • Build and provide a suite of analytical tools to measure the category commercial performance (and product performance metrics) to ensure the category ambitions targets are realised with corresponding adjustments where applicable.

 

Creativity

  • Support the consumer concept creation with Design and Development counterparts to ensure validity against the category strategy.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

  • Previous experience working with cleated footwear is desirable.
  • Equipment and Accessories experience is desirable.
  • Familiar with Adobe suite software and capable of manipulating files; InDesign, Illustrator preferred.
  • Organised with high-level project management skills and comfortable in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Strong leadership capability and strategic planning acumen.
  • Analytical and commercial planning experience.
  • Acknowledged as a consumer expert within the NB Football category.
  • Engaging and impactful presentation skills essential.
  • High level of communication capability.
