Marketing & Community Relations Intern

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly-motivated marketing and community relations intern who has a passion for sports. This position will work in the day-to-day management of digital content for Forward Madison FC. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to gain experience in both the sports environment as well as the fast-paced digital content industry. Due to the nature of working within a small team, this role will evolve to being involved with a number of departments. 

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
  • Daily scanning of local social media activity as well as monitoring activity of other clubs both in our league & internationally.
  • Work with Director of Digital Media in preparing weekly analytics report, and working to improve growth of platforms.
  • Assist in creating and executing social media content & campaigns. 
  • Assist in building nonprofit partnerships and planning out gameday activations for them. 
  • Assist in building out gameday script and organizing in-game entertainment.
  • Some evening & weekend tabling activities at Madison events and festivals.

Qualifications:
  • Strong written and editing skills 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media platforms, with a strong focus on Twitter, Facebook, 
  • Instagram and Snapchat. Familiarity with others a plus. 
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Videography experience and ability to edit video
  • Confident to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player who is willing to own projects 
  • Knowledge of American soccer landscape as well as international soccer 
  • Knowledge of Photoshop suite

Internships run from approximately March 2, 2021 until the end of the 2021 season (approx. October 2021).  Due to the uncertainty regarding sports in Madison, the internship start date is to be determined and Forward Madison has the right to end said internship prior to the end of the 2021 season. The interns work directly with the management staff. All Interns must receive college credit for this internship OR this internship must qualify for a graduation requirement. Interns will receive a stipend. We don't cover any relocation expenses, etc.
