Job Description

We are looking for a new Reserves team coach to work under and support the current manager of the team while acting as an assistant/coach. With our current manager being a former player who has good managerial skills but little experience in coaching and running a session, we are looking for a new coach to come in and support him with the following aspects below (please see responsibilities section). While we are ideally looking for a coach who has at least a FA Level 1 qualification (or equivalent), we are willing to be flexible with regards to specifics of qualifications, dependent on experience

The team currently trains/plays within (Wythenshawe/Altrincham) and is in the Manchester Football League Division 3. 

Training is on Tuesday (to be confirmed)

Matches are on Saturdays (between August - May)

Your responsibilities will be:

  • To run good quality training sessions that will be beneficial to open-age players and for the team (1x per week)
  • To attend matchdays on Saturday afternoons for the team and support the manager with anything he needs (1x per week)
  • To offer advice to the manager (e.g. team selection)
  • To be a committed member of the club who will help it to thrive 

Essential from you:

  • Experience of running session that are of a standard to develop players
  • To be able to run session that are of a high intensity
  • Adaptability to what we and the players need from the sessions
  • At least the FA Playmaker qualification or an FA level 1 equivalent  
  • Previous experience of coaching in a grassroots or another environment

Desirable from you:

  • UEFA C Certificate or FA Level 2 equivalent - BSC undergraduate coaching course or a similar relevant field would be excellent  
  • Experience of running or coaching at an open-age level
