Job Description

The Assistant Program Director will work alongside our Program Directors through innovative and high-quality youth development programming and excellence in coaching.  The APD will be expected to provide the highest level of customer service while building upon the program’s unassailable reputation for success on and off the field.  The individual must be highly motivated, detailed-oriented and will demonstrate the ability to adapt and problem solve in a fast-paced, team environment.  Reports to respective Program Directors and the Executive Director.  Flexible schedule, willingness to work weekends and access to transportation is necessary.


  • Work with Program Directors and Executive Director to assist in the club’s continued excellence and expansion
  • Assist as point of contact for Travel Programs
  • Assist corresponding Program Directors with player evaluations as needed
  • Cultivate positive, proactive and inclusive communication between Travel Program, coaches and parents
  • Collaborate with all the Program Directors to ensure successful player placement processes and oversee the movement of players within the club as appropriate
  • Assist in the resolution of coaching conflicts for Travel Teams & ADP Program
  • Assist, organize and plan tryouts for Travel Program
  • Oversee our Xtra Play (Technical Training) program
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure seamless operations
  • Act as Head Coach of three (3) Richmond Kickers Travel teams
  • Act as Head Coach of two (2) Richmond Kickers Futsal Teams in Winter
  • Coach select Summer Camps
  • Identify camp participants for ADP and Travel programs
  • Attend weekly Technical Staff meetings and bi-annual Coaches meetings
  • Represent the club at assigned events
  • Assist with special projects across all departments as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service always
  • Demonstrate healthy conflict resolution skills when addressing concerns with/of parents and players
  • Pass annual State and National background checks
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States (visa sponsorships are not available for this position).
