Job Description

Palm Beach Atlantic University is seeking to hire a Graduate Assistant to work with the women’s soccer program. Goalkeeping background is preferred, but all qualified candidates will be considered. This is a 10-month position, lasting 2 years beginning in August of 2024. The qualified and hired candidate will receive a tuition scholarship for a graduate school program as well as a stipend. 

Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, PBA is a non-denominational Christian University, an NCAA Division II institution, and member of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Candidates with a desire to impact lives through sports and a commitment to the integration of faith and athletics are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be prepared to assist the head coach with the operation of a competitive NCAA Division II collegiate soccer program. These responsibilities include:

  • Support and contribute to coaching efforts in both training and game.
  • Involvement in the recruiting process of student-athletes including scouting, input of information into databases, communication with recruits and coaches, and visits on campus.
  • Help with administrative office tasks 
  • Edit and analyze film
  • Attend required meetings
  • Support the public relations initiatives of the athletic department while maintaining positive relationships with alumni, students, and parents
  • Encourage community involvement and positively promote Palm Beach Atlantic University
  • Will work with keepers in training and pre-game
  • Adhere to the rules of the NCAA and Palm Beach Atlantic University and Sunshine State Conference.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a graduate program
  • Goalkeeper coaching preferred and collegiate playing experience required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with and advise students
  • Excellent written and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.
