The Purpose:


As a Partnerships Sales Manager you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth through the acquisition and retention of Partnerships & Alliances (sponsorship deals) for Manchester United. Your exceptional sales skills, strategic thinking, and strong relationship-building abilities will be instrumental in securing sponsors, maximising revenue streams, and enhancing the overall success of our organisation.

The Role:

  • Identify and target, (at C-suite level) potential partners (prospects), evaluating their suitability for MUFC and aligning their brand objectives with the Clubs offerings.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the prospects overall brand objectives and strategic growth/marketing plans.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers externally engaging in effective communication to demonstrate the effectiveness of our partnership opportunities.
  • Create compelling proposals and presentations, highlighting the unique benefits and value proposition of association with Manchester United and demonstrating exposure, audience reach, and marketing activations.
  • Create analytical, data led proof points, utilizing internal and external resource to demonstrate ROI and value of a partnership with Manchester United to the prosect in question
  • Negotiate commercial contracts interests to a mutually beneficial outcome for both Club and partner
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, events, and operations teams, to deliver on contractual benefits, activations, and fulfilment.
  • Actively manage and maintain relationships with existing partners, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction, renewals, and upselling opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand your network and generate leads

The Person:

  • Demonstrable track record of completing sales processes, ideally from within a high value, low volume sales cycle.
  • Ability to engage, influence and manage senior level stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Analytical mindset with capability to understand partner objectives and structure and present relevant sales data to deliver on these.
  • Experience of preparing highly detailed data and analytics to absolute accuracy levels
  • A strong track record of presenting to external stakeholders at a range of levels and cross border- you must be able to articulate complex narratives with complete clarity.
  • Prior experience working across a range of internal functions and with a strong understanding of all aspects of the marketing mix.
  • Applicants should have the ability to travel extensively (up to 60%) and at short notice.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of working to tight deadlines in a high-performance environment.
  • A strong team player, you will be part of a small, high-performance team and will need to demonstrate an exceptional attitude towards team work, whilst being able to self-motivate and approach the role with high levels of proactivity
