OPEN POSITION - LONG ISLAND SOCCER CLUB – GIRLS ACADEMY DIRECTOR  

Type: Full-time  

  • Salary: Negotiable – Commensurate with experience and qualifications 

Club Background: Long Island Soccer Club (LISC) is an elite level program based in Nassau County, NY. An area boasting one of the largest soccer demographics in the USA. LISC coaching staff is of the highest order with over 80% being college coachesThe club is administered by a full-time professional staff and is soon to break ground on a purpose-built indoor and outdoor facility. The elite level girls’ teams are part of the Girls Academy league (GA).   

Overview: The LISC Girls Academy Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the LISC Girls Academy program including but not limited to implementation and oversight of training schedules and curriculum; communication with players, coaches, administrators, and parents; education, management, and evaluation of coaching staff. 

The Girls Academy Director reports directly to the Executive Club Director. The Girls Academy Director will execute the strategic goals of LISC in a manner consistent with the club's mission, vision, and values. Communication and collaboration are vital in this role. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Continue to develop the overall experience for members & staff by driving the mission, vision & values of the organization throughout the “LISC Way” program 
  • Serve as a Head Coach for one or more LISC GA team(s)  
  • Design annual competition calendars in collaboration with the Executive Club Director 
  • Drive and oversee daily implementation of player development philosophy, teaching methodologies, curriculum & processes  
  • Work daily with LISC coaches to lead & support in developing their respective areas 
  • Observe & evaluate sessions to enhance opportunities for growth & ensure implementation of the LISC player development philosophy 
  • Collaborate, as a member of the Technical Board, to develop and implement a coaching education plan aligned with the club player development philosophy  
  • Assist the Executive Club Director in creating & managing the LISC program budget 
  • Work with the Club Director to identify, recruit, hire, evaluate, mentor & maintain LISC staff  
  • Communicate & network with current/previous club members, other soccer club directors, & state association to ensure the club is represented to the highest of standards nationally  
  • Oversee the successful implementation of all supplemental elements of the LISC Girls Academy program including but not limited to: Video analysis, Individual Player Plans, Sports Performance, Mental Fitness, Nutrition, College Choice, Community Service, Leadership  
  • Assist in the process of recruitment for camps, clinics, and events 
  • Represent the Club at functions, meetings & events as directed by the Executive Club Director  

Experience in any of the following related fields would be considered advantageous:  

  • College Recruiting Process, Goalkeeper Training, Leadership/Sports Psychology, Sport Performance & Science; Design and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDP), Design, implementation & evaluation of curriculum, Leadership of a high performing program, Creating, executing & managing training schedules, Proven communication skills tailored to needs of players, coaches & parents, Strong conflict resolution skills
