Job Description

Hull City are seeking to recruit a confident and diligent professional to join our finance department in the key role of Management Accountant.

 

Working as part of a core team, the successful candidate will support the Financial Controller in a variety of key tasks for both Hull City and SMC, ensuring their duties are completed on time and to the required standard.  This is a permanent, full-time position and candidates should have previous relevant experience of a similar position. There will be opportunities for additional training and further personal development over time.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Your key responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and other financial reports as required.
  • Controlling income and expenditure within the business and ensuring that expenditure is in-line with budgets.
  • Support month end and year end reports and processing journals (income and expense accruals, prepayment and deferred income).
  • Working closely with Financial Controller to advise strategies / actions that will reduce the operating cost and /or advise the management on the financial implications of projects carried out.
  • Working closely with Financial Controller to develop and oversee financial systems and procedures and identify opportunities to improve these.
  • Act as audit liaison.
  • UK VAT return and liaison with VAT agents in respect of EU VAT registrations.
  • Support the Finance Controller in a variety of key tasks for both Hull City Tigers and SMC ensuring all duties are completed on time and to the required standard.

 

What are we looking for?

 

·         CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or equivalent) or evidence of working towards (essential)

·         Educated to BSc Degree level (or equivalent) (essential)

·         Good knowledge of management accounts (accruals, prepayments, etc.)

·         Experience on Cost & Revenue allocation

·         Competent in finance systems/software and proficient in Excel.

·         Experience on General Ledger journals and Trial Balance reconciliation

·         Excellent IT skills with a strong track record of change management and process improvement.

·         Understanding of a constantly changing culture/demand.

·         Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills.

·         Able to communicate effectively at all levels.

·         Dedicated to self-improvement and personal development.

·         Willing to follow and promote the Clubs goals and vision.

·         Represent Hull City in a professional manner at all times.
