Reports to: Head Chef
Location: Blackpool Football Club Hotel
Hours: 40 per week – to include evenings, weekends & match days
Salary: Competitive (Depending on Experience)

Who we are:

Blackpool Football Club is an English professional association football club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.

The club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League (the old
First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the Premier
League in 2010 (becoming the first club to gain promotion from every division of the
Football League via the play-off system.)

The team are competing in the Championship, the second tier of the English Football
League, having gained promotion from League One in 2020–21.

The club have played their home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.

About the role:

We are currently looking for a Chef de Partie to join our friendly team, preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes in our restaurant for our customers / guests.

You will be working alongside our Head Chef, using your creative skills to assist with the creating of menu items, recipes & the developing of dishes.

A good knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen health & safety will be essential.

We serve a breakfast daily, afternoon tea, lunches, and dinner from a main menu, plus specials.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To prepare, cook and present food quickly, safely, and efficiently to brand standard.
  • Communicate and work well with the guest service team to ensure the delivery of great quality food and guest service.
  • Deal with guest queries and complaints quickly and professionally.
  • Support the team by helping out others when required e.g., pot / glass washing.
  • Take pride to ensure the kitchen and back of house areas, including team toilets / changing areas are clean, hygienic, and tidy, at all times.
  • Set up and closedown the department to brand standard including stock rotation and prep and par processes.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and new products.
  • Work safely with kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the manager.
  • Complete all appropriate company documentation, due diligence records and key tasks, on every shift.
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training & online eLearning
  • Always adhere to all brand standards, company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out management team requests and brand instructions.
  • Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
  • Complying with Health & Safety regulations
  • Handling Pressure & Problems Operates well under pressure, using initiative and remaining positive when confronted with problems.
  • Continuously strive to improve your own performance through formal and informal

Person Specification

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Ideally hold City and Guilds 706-1 and 2.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking.
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent.

Experience (Essential)

  • Experience of working as a chef at this level in a busy kitchen kitchen equipment. environment is essential.
  • Experience of food production and preparation.
  • You will be passionate about food, have impeccable standards and a great team spirit.

Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience using various items of kitchen equipment.

Knowledge & Skills (Essential)

  • Must utilise excellent food in hygiene practices at all times.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety techniques. legislation and Food Hygiene standards.

Knowledge & Skills (Desirable)

  • Good knowledge and experience in a wide range of culinary techniques.
  • The ability to run your station, ensuring it is kept clean and organised throughout service.
