Job Description

The role of the Sports Development Officer for Football for Sunshine Coast FC Development Club Full-Time Academy, which also encompasses the critical position of Japanese Sports Coordinator for Talent Identification & Outreach.

The position involves working to promote and enhance the development of football in Australia, whilst also ensuring our network of operations with our contacts in Japan remains seamless as we continue to bring student / athletes from Japan, whilst also working on taking student / athletes from Australia to Japan through our Talent ID & Outreach program. 


The role is focused on organising programs both in Australia and Japan as part of the ‘Talent Identification and Outreach’ programs for Sunshine Coast Football Club, which will see players transition from Development to Elite programs, plus initiatives that encourage participation, skill development, and engagement in football, whilst also identifying players to join the full-time academy at Peregian Beach College from our network within Australia and also from our program partners in Japan.


The Sports Development Officer – Football – Development Club Full-Time Academy and Japanese Sports Coordinator for Talent Identification & Outreach is a demanding position, which is suitable for a candidate who possesses a recognised advanced coaching accreditation by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and is recognised as a minimum C License by Football Australia (FA). 


The successful candidate will require to hold a ‘Diploma of Sport’ at level 5 or above, the diploma must be recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
A current lifeguard qualification that is recognised in Australia is also desirable along with up to date first aid and child protection training.


The successful candidate must also be competent in English and Japanese language and will have a clear understanding of the football eco-system in Australia and Japan. 


It is essential that the candidate will have work rights in Japan.



Hours Per Week: Full-Time 38 Hours.
