Job Description

As a Recruiter, you will be responsible for identifying and recruiting athletes for our Varsity Nine Elite services. Your passion for football and in-depth knowledge of an elite athlete is paramount to successfully guiding them through our process whilst playing a crucial part in shaping the future of aspiring athletes and driving the growth within our company.

The Player Placement position is responsible for ensuring scholarship opportunities are effectively and efficiently being secured for all Soccer Assist & Varsity Nine athletes. This role brings a level of freedom and autonomy to succeed; consisting of managing a portfolio of clients, promoting the athletes, building and retaining relationships with US Coaches, as well as administrative duties. Additionally, you will be supported within the role; with frequent company trips to the US to further expand your network.

RECRUITMENT

  • Build relationships with clubs and organisations to create a method of recruiting athletes
  • Actively engages with potential student-athletes and their families to promote the benefits of college athletic programs
  • Evaluates the athletic abilities, academic achievements, and character traits of prospective student-athletes to determine their suitability for college athletic programs
  • Build and maintains strong relationships with club coaches, talent scouts, and talent identifiers to access a broad pool of potential recruits
  • Utilise various scouting methods and platforms to identify talented student-athletes who align with our partner college programs' needs
  • Cultivate strong relationships with athletes and their families, providing personalised support and guidance throughout the recruitment journey
  • Evaluate athletes' skills, potential, and fit with college programs, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements
  • Track and analyse recruitment metrics and data to measure success and continuously improve recruitment strategies
  • Responsible for the signing and end-to-end delivery of the Varsity Nine Elite placements
  • Support the recruitment team to achieve end of year signing targets
  • Continuously build relationships with clubs & colleges, with an aim of securing annual presentations
  • Attend events to meet prospective clients and build club network
  • Attend sports events, tournaments, and showcases to identify and connect with potential athletes
  • Liaise with local partners in placement countries to check client suitability in that region (e.g Ryan in Australia)
  • Use LinkedIn and Instagram as effective outreaching tools to build relationships with prospective clubs
  • Liaise with US University coaches to build a pipeline of graduate players we can offer our services to
  • Manage your calendar efficiently to ensure sales meetings are scheduled accordingly with prospective clients
  • Keep the "sales pipeline" document updated
  • Ensure all player notes and updates are logged correctly in the CRM & the appropriate deal stages are adhered to

PLACEMENT

Promotion of client

  • Successfully place Soccer Assist & Varsity Nine clients by securing scholarship offers on their behalf
  • Liaise with clients and US coaches to secure best possible deals
  • Negotiate scholarship contracts and close agreements to maximise savings for family
  • Working with the Placement Team to ensure clients have multiple offers
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned clients effectively
  • Work effectively within the placement timeframe

Relationships with US coaches

  • Build and retain relationships to ensure opportunities will be available for clients
  • Ensure the demand of US Coaches is aligned with our supply
  • Create and maintain an onboarding US coach strategy
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Continuous research to find US universities recruiting needs
  • Increase US coaches contact/network
  • Liaise with US coaches and US Admissions staff (including outbound calls and emails)
  • Handle inbound enquiries from US coaches in a timely manner

Administration duties

  • Update database/CRM with notes/data on a weekly basis and ensure all relevant information is captured throughout the process
  • Maintain the speed and quality required for each CRM/Placement stage
  • Compile athletes pipeline progress reports on a weekly basis and report to line managers

Placement process

  • Understand and retain information about the US route and the Soccer Assist/Varsity Nine process
  • Once client handed over from Account Coordinator, understand their requirements and needs
  • Remain in constant contact with Account Coordinator to be aware of any changes to clients needs and requirements
  • Consistently offer excellent customer service and successfully place all clients for required class
  • Liaise with parents during process when needed

Operations

  • Support, where necessary, the Placement Team & Events Manager with showcase events for all Soccer Assist clients, including organisation of teams
  • Work closely with our Video Analyst to ensure client video footage is sufficient for promotion
  • All hands on deck approach on the day of company events, to ensure a great experience for clients
  • Actively seek new opportunities; network and make relevant contacts in the sport and education sector
  • Identify ways to streamline and improve our internal processes and increase customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote our services and build our brand within the athletic community
  • Support social media campaigns, for example Facebook groups for coaches, information and ideas for website content, Team App, and video suggestions etc.
