Job Description

This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of our nationally ranked girls ECNL & ECNL-Regional League programs. Additionally, the Academy/ECNL Director will oversee our girls Elite Performance Program (EPP), and will be assigned as a head coach to two ECNL teams. This position will report directly to our Technical Director.

Essential Functions:
Academy/ECNL Director:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to all ECNL & ECNL-RL teams, maintaining the clubs standing as a Top 25 Girls ECNL club in the nation.
  • Coach Education/Curriculum: Assist the Technical Director to run seasonal coach education sessions/seminars. Maintain, update, and implement the club mandated curriculum.
  • Technical Meetings: Assist the Technical Director conduct weekly/bi-monthly Technical Meetings for all full-time zone/level Directors.
  • Coach Evaluation & Mentorship: Assist the Technical Director with coach recruitment, assessment, mentorship, and team assignment.
  • Annual Competition Plans/Schedule: Assist the Technical Director to create and manage the Travel/Academy seasonal competition plan for all levels of play (indoor & outdoor events, league play, supplementary programming, tournaments & showcases).
  • Membership Meetings: Assist the Executive Director and Technical Director with any ‘Open House/Membership Meetings’.
  • College Night Workshop: In conjunction with senior staff, manage and plan the annual ‘College Education Night’.
  • College Placement Program: Work with senior staff, players, staff coaches, and liaise with college coaches to ensure that 25+ players are being placed at the NCAA levels annually.
  • League Delegate Roles: Fulfill duties of the ECNL Delegate role.
  • ID Clinics & Scouting: In conjunction with the Technical Director create, implement, and manage an annual ID Clinics & Scouting plan.
  • Coach & Player Evaluation Process: In conjunction with the Technical Director implement and manage a formalized coach and player seasonal evaluation process.
  • Tryouts: In conjunction with the Technical Director manage the annual Girls Travel/Academy Tryouts Process (U13-U19).
  • Game Observations: Observer/evaluate ECNL & ECNL-Regional league teams throughout the course of the season.
  • PFSA Girls Winter Showcase: Assist with college coach and team recruitment.
  • Team Camps: Coach/Direct two weeks of mandatory team camps.
  • Monthly Technical Report: Submit a monthly report to the Executive Director & Technical Director.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Executive Director, Technical Director, and Board of Directors.

Elite Performance Program:

  • Create, manage, and maintain individual development plans (IDP’s) for our most talented players within the U12-U19 age groups (30+/- players).
  • Direct monthly ‘best with best’ programming across the U12-U19 age groups.
  • Manage an annual competition plan that includes local and regional events.

Position Application:


Technical Skills, Qualifications, & Requirements:

  • USSF A / B / or Academy Directors License (or international equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5+ years coaching within a national level league or at the collegiate level.
  • Preferred: 3+ years experience within a Director of Coaching role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the college recruitment and placement process.
  • Track record of developing collegiate/professional players.
  • A passion for girls youth development, and ability to work as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Ability to work in a structure with a defined style-of-play, curriculum, and player development philosophy.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international youth development trends, systems, and best practices.
  • An understanding of the regional and national soccer landscape.
  • On-field: *6 weekly training sessions plus weekend games & events (coaching & observations).
  • Off-field: *20+/- hours administrative duties/program management.

Administrative Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required (Sports Management, Business Administration, Sports Science).
  • Technology: proficient with Sports Session Planner, Veo, Sports Analytic Platforms, and Google products.
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal).
  • Creative & innovative.

  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
  • Candidate must provide up-to-date PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal Background Check.
