Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Department: Finance Department


Job Summary and Objectives:

The purpose of this role is to assist the Finance Department in accounting duties.


Key Responsibilities
1. Process supplier invoices.
2. Update supplier information on Advance Financials.
3. Supplier statement reconciliation.
4. Update supplier information on Advance Financials.
5. Tidying of purchase ledger.
6. Processing of staff expenses and credit card statements.
7. Processing and reconciliation of petty cash including journals.
8. Posting and allocating payments/receipts as per daily bank statements.
9. Bank reconciliations.
10. Processing the Departments’ incoming and outgoing mail.
11. Liaising with suppliers via telephone and email.
12. Participate in the appraisal process.
13. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health and safety and
security.
14. All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.


Person Specification:
• You will need to be proactive.
• Possess the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external service users.
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload efficiently.
• Ability to resolve queries in a timely manner.
• Strong administrative background.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Qualifications/Licences
• Working towards an accounting qualification

Experience
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential.

Skills
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Accurate numerical skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
