Job Description

Brief Description

The HRBM is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units in the areas of Human Resources Management.

 
Fosters partnerships across the business units and HR function, use data driven decision methodologies to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the SC.
 
The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, acts as an employee champion and change agent. Communicating needs proactively with designated business units and with SC HR.
 
HRBM acts as a consultant on human resources management and organizational changes across business units.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Engage with business units to become a trusted partner to shape positive changes, understanding business unit’s objectives, business plans and challenges, while at the same time ensuring business units understand the business environment that HR and SC operates, including realistic time frame on HR project delivery.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units to provide daily HR guidance on a range of issue such as organisational design & structure, resource planning, budget requirements, employee engagement and training & development with the objective to close out any issues, activities, and request. Direct to appropriate decision maker.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective analyses, while the same time educating business units of HR guidelines, processes and policy.
  • Coordinate with business units on promotions and transfers, advice HR Director and Senior HR Business Partner the appropriate job & salary grade taking into consideration job descriptions, job evaluation and employee’s capabilities, experience and qualification relative to peers in similar roles. Administer the change process as per HR guidelines with HR Operations. 
  • Work with Business Units to draft and update job descriptions taking into considerations changes from roles & responsibilities and organisation design through life cycle of project.
  • Engage, support and administer the hiring process, including testing, selection, and pre on-boarding processes for Direct Hires, Consultants and Secondment in coordination with Talent Acquisition.
  • Engage with business units on training needs and evaluation processes, taking into consideration job role and alignment to business objectives and employees individual development plans. Feeding the information into HR Training function.
  • Support Talent Management team to integrate performance management with business objectives taking into consideration job descriptions, project work and other roles & responsibilities of employees. Support the identification of succession planning as required.
  • Research, analyse and recommend new HR strategies that will have a positive impact for SC. Focus should be towards a “project base” organisation where there is an unnatural flow of employees in and out of SC during pre and post programme event.
  • Direct, support and guide Business Units to submit human resources documentations and per HR guidelines for any employee or HR transactions.
  • Prepare reports, and analyse data available through Oracle Business Reports.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Build and integrate business requirements into Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) i.e. HR Oracle solutions.
  • Deputise for each member during leave to ensure business continuity 
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor directly related or relevant to the job
  • Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered:
  1. to a high standard of quality and timeliness
  2. n  full compliance with the SC Quality Policy and the Safety and Security rules and requirements
  3. in line with any standards and objectives designated in the Employee Performance Management system

Job Requirements

Education and certifications

  • Educated to bachelor degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or relevant disciplines.
  • Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or relevant disciplines is an advantage.
  • CIPD certificates in Human Resource Management is an advantage

Experience and skills

  • Minimum cumulative experience of +10 years in Human Resources preferably in a construction industry, mega project organising committee or any major organisation with 500+ employees
  • Experience in working in a “HR Business Partner” model is an advantage
  • Experience in a wide range of Human Resource functions such as organisation effectiveness, organisation design, training & development, recruitment, HR operations, business planning and budgeting 
  • Experience in engaging with different business partners, project teams across an organisation, preferably in projects delivery environment
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring
  • Self-starter able to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), as role will involve engaging with multiple stakeholders across business units
  • Exceptional client management skills with proven track record of building strong relationships
  • Highly developed computer skills particular Excel, Powerpoint, Word, MS Project 
  • Well-developed analytical skills, methodical problem solver with excellent attention to deal
  • Passionate and determined, committed to delivering projects on-time and above expectations.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to perform structured analysis of complex data sets
