About the opportunity: Do you want to join us in making a positive difference to the lives of young people across our city?  We have an exciting opportunity for an Interventions Support Worker to join our growing Everton in the Community Youth and Support team. 

 

Everton in the Community’s Youth and Support team provides children, young people, adults  and families with support and opportunities to develop social skills, gain qualifications, improve health and wellbeing and enjoy new experiences in a safe and friendly environment. 

 

We are dedicated to raising the aspirations of our children and young people with the clear goal of them having a safe transition into adulthood and reaching their full potential. 

 

Our wide range of programmes include 41 Goodison, that offers intense support and positive interventions to young people aged 10-19 years-old who are involved in criminality or being criminally exploited, excluded from education, troubles within the family home, in the care system and much more.  

 

We also work with adults and the families of our young people by supporting them through various programs and services. Our goal is to provide comprehensive assistance and resources to ensure the well-being and development of both the youth and their families.  

 

Our passionate and dedicated team of staff work to inspire and empower young people and adults to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition from surviving to thriving. 

 

Who we are looking for: We are looking for an individual who has the ability to gain the trust of young people at our 41 Goodison programmes, in order to inspire and motivate them to make right choices through the delivery of early and effective interventions  

 

With experience working with young people who show challenging behaviour, 

you will have the ability to demonstrate patience, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude and have a genuine interest in the support and development of vulnerable young people. 

 

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:    

  • VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or other relevant qualification/experience in youth or community work 

  • IT literate to a good level and competent 

  • Certificate/Training in Safeguarding 

  • Solid experience of 1-to-1 support and group work with young people; to include assessment, intervention planning and deliver of action plans 

  • Experience of working with young people that are difficult to engage and display risk factors such as low confidence and low self esteem  

  • Experience of delivering in schools and educational establishments 

  • Ability to stay calm and make decisions in pressurised situations 

  • Full UK Driving Licence

This position will be offered on a fixed term basis, working 35 hours per week  

 

The location of this role will be EITC Campus (Goodison Park), Schools and any other location deemed suitable by the Interventions Coordinator
