Job Description

Position Summary:

Rogers State University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant/Men's Soccer Coach. The The Graduate Assistant/Men's Assistant Soccer Coach reports to the Head Soccer Coach. The Graduate Assistant/Assistant Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Soccer Coach. This person filling this position is expected to adhere to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletic Department and the Head Soccer Coach. In addition, they will be required to live on campus, to provide evening support in dorms, provide access to facilities and study hall of the student-athletes.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Masters degree in Sports Management or Sports Administration with a familiarity and exposure to college soccer. 

Primary Duties: 

  • Teach the fundamentals of the game; instruct, plan, organize and implement all practice schedules and game strategies; and advise and monitor student-athletes academic progress. 

Secondary Duties: 

  • Track student athlete academic progress, including but not limited to supervising study halls, arrangement of travel schedules/meals, and setting up practice times for road trips.
  • Ability to successfully recruit highly competitive student athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Soccer Coach and Athletic Director.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A demonstrated knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an athletics department.
  • A proven record in following directives and being responsible for tasks, which have been assigned.
  • Experience and competency in a leadership role within the classroom are preferred, and experience with computers and video editing a plus.
