DUTIES: Responsible for the leadership and development of student athletes including:
Discipleship
- Discipleship of women in the program to facilitate spiritual growth in each student athlete
- Teaching and modeling the value of Christian competition
- Monitoring academic performance of student athletes and working to ensure the discipleship, development, and retention of student athletes
- Counseling team members in disciplinary, academic, or personal matters while consulting with LETU administration on matters requiring resolution of problems.
Recruiting
- Recruit and retain quality student athletes who understand and embrace LeTourneau University’s mission and vision as the Christian Polytechnic University
- Find and enroll student athletes that are equipped with the ability to achieve academic and athletic success
- Working in conjunction with the head coach to fill a roster with an appropriately competitive number
Excellence
- Work to ensure we are the most effective and most successful athletic department in the American Southwest Conference in all facets
- Preparing the student-athletes in the analyses of specific sport analyses and planning strategies accordingly
- Handling all social media accounts for the LETU women’s soccer program, regularly producing engaging content
Service
- Regularly serve in the department in any area needed, including spiritual development, field maintenance, home events oversight, and fundraising activities
- Contributing and caring for the development and growth of the athletic department, in tangible ways
- Creating service and mission opportunities for student athletes to invest in the community
Administrative Effectiveness
- Ensuring compliance with the University, ASC Conference and NCAA policies and regulations
- Approaching every facet of this position with a high degree of professionalism
- Performing other duties as requested by the head coach or Vice President for Athletics
QUALIFICATIONS: LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to a Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.
- An accredited bachelor's degree is required; along with acceptance into an LETU graduate program.
- Ability to be a dynamic leader within the athletic department
- Strong organizational ability
- Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students, and faculty members.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III.
- An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
