WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?
The goal of our Advanced Risk team is to challenge conventional wisdom about risk management for sports betting operators. Using new measures of liability that take account of correlations between different markets on an event, and by monitoring betting patterns from the moment an event is opened for betting, we apply margins asymmetrically in a way that helps operators to make higher profit margins, reduce volatility and improve customer experience with greater uptime and fewer rejected bets.
Our software enables a level of flexibility and closer control, closer reminiscent of the earlier days of sports betting, before increased events and required automation removed that possibility.
HOW WILL YOU WORK?
Join a specially formed, highly skilled team delivering an innovative & intelligent product! Forming part of a multi-disciplinary agile team of Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data Scientists, Senior QA Engineer and a Product Owner, you will look to work closely to the fundamental principles of continuous delivery and empowered, high-performing teams.

THE ROLE
As the Senior QA Engineer you will work closely with the product development team and stakeholders to improve the testing skills of the team, evaluate and enhance quality processes, and ensure product quality is continually improving. The Senior Engineer QA role is highly autonomous – you will be the one driving quality initiatives for this team whilst aligning with group wide Quality Assistance principles.
As a Senior QA Engineer you and your team will build highly distributed, real-time, dynamically scaling systems using modern CI/CD pipelines & cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for innovating, architecting, delivering & maintaining an industry-revolutionising product.
We will lean on your technical expertise and your pragmatic approach to problem solving; working in a team that prioritizes the principles of Agile delivery and continuous improvement. You will have a Data-driven, evidence-based mentality, comfortable with the principles of continuous experimentation and validation.
As a Senior QA Engineer you will excel at seeing beyond the immediate spec, developing a forward-looking, efficient solution that balances capability with the need to build in measured increments. Mentoring, encouraging curiosity, demonstrating high levels of ownership and thinking about the bigger picture are important at the Senior level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building product quality strategy with best QA practices and champion it within the team
- Evaluating and ensuring test effort done by other team members is sufficient across all levels of testing
- Involvement in production releases, identifying and mitigating the associated risks
- Working with Product Owners to ensure stories have the required level of detail and user acceptance criteria;
- Measure and monitor quality standards and metrics that drive QA performance
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU HAVE?
- You will have solid commercial QA experience in highly-scalable, fault-tolerant, observable microservices and systems
- You will have advanced understanding of software and bug lifecycles
- You will have experience in implementing automation strategies which empower engineers to take ownership of quality
- You will have knowledge of quality assurance methodologies supported by ISTQB/ISEB principles
- You will have good experience working in BDD (eg Specflow or Cucumber)
- You will have experience in Performance testing
