Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting and engaging foundation participants that are interested in taking their first steps on their coaching journey. Working with a part time officer, you will support the young people through coaching qualifications, 1-1 mentoring, session planning, and gaining work experience at our existing sessions. Alongside this, you will be responsible for upskilling and supporting foundation coaches so that they can provide effective work experience to the participants. 

You will be responsible for developing a participant’s recruitment process for the programme, which you will then manage during the planning stage of each cohort. This recruitment process will be aimed at our current foundation participants and must include a process for selecting the participants if demand for each cohort is too high. 

You will be required to build a strong rapport with the participants, ensuring that they feel supported so that they remain on the programme for the entire cohort. This is likely to be their first experience of coaching and so a patient and calm approach will be needed. You must also develop positive relationships with the foundation coaches who will be responsible for providing the young people with rewarding and challenging opportunities to practice their new skills. 

You will have experience of delivering workshops or educational sessions to young people, as well as in football coaching. You should also have a keen interested in supporting young people on their journey to becoming football coaches. You must have excellent communication and organisation skills to stay on top of each participants individual schedule. 

In additional to the skills mentioned above you will be expected to provide employability support to the young people, helping develop their CV’s and interview skills. 

 Candidates must have the following qualifications (in date) and experience, as a minimum:

• FA Level 2 (UEFA C) in Football Coaching Qualification
• FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
• FA First Aid Certificate
• Working with young people in an educational environment
